Negative formats include 35mm, 16mm, and APS negatives. Mounted slide formats up to 2x2 inches. Negatives will be framed in a 3:2 aspect ratio which is the digital equivalent of the 4x6 standard print popular through most of the 80s and 90s.
Standard resolution images are the equivalent of 2.2 megapixel photos. They are suitable for posting to social media websites and using for 4x6 prints. The scanned files are compressed using the JPEG format. This is the most popular option and is suitable for most users.
High resolution images are the equivalent of 8.6 megapixel photos. This is suitable for prints up to 8x12 inches. The scanned files are compressed using the JPEG format. Choose this option if you are planning to make a photo book with full page layouts.
Full frame, uncompressed is our highest detail capture available. We scan the media at 4800 DPI and print set at 600DPI. The scanned file is not compressed and is output in the TIFF format. This option is suitable for users who plan to edit the returned files with photo editing software. We will manually adjust the scanning area to capture as much of the frame as possible, including discolored areas on the edge.
